The campaign dates for the plebiscite for the proposed revised Ateneo de Naga University- Supreme Student Government (AdNU-SSG) constitution have been moved from 2 April until 22 April 2024, with the plebiscite itself scheduled to take place from 23 April to 25 April 2024.
Based on the memorandum released by the AdNU-SSG Commission on Elections (COMELEC) on the 2nd of April, the adjustment was agreed upon by the AdNU-SSG and the AdNU-SSG COMELEC due to insufficient opportunity for the student body to comprehend the proposed charter change (ChaCha) if the previous timeline was to be considered.
"The updated schedule ensures that the student body will have ample time to evaluate the constitution's capacity to address their needs within the university, " the notice read.
It can be recalled that the initial dates proposed for the campaign period were 18 March to 19 March and 1 April to 2 April while the plebiscite was set to take place from 3 April to 5 April 2024.
