Ateneo de Naga University has appointed Dr. Ma. Filipinas “Pines” H. Bana as the new dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) for a three-year term from 10 February 2025 to 31 May 2028.
According to Memorandum 2024-2025-061 from the Office of the President, the search committee approved the recommendation to appoint Dr. Bana as CHSS dean after careful deliberation.
Dr. Bana, known as "Ma'am Pines" to her students, earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees at AdNU and her PhD at the Philippine Women’s University. She previously worked in the institution’s formation and administration office and has been active in the university's spirituality and leadership activities.
Dr. Bana, who has been with AdNU for several years, served as the Media Studies Department Chairperson since 2018 while being an associate professor.
