EXCELLENCE TAKES center stage once again as a graduate of Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU) etched his name by achieving a remarkable feat, securing topnotcher ranks in two licensure exams, held 17-19 March 2026.

Emmanuel Caguicla Nieva, a BS Electronics Engineering graduate, successfully secured his place as one of the top examinees in the March 2026 Professional Regulation Commission-administered Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination (EELE), earning a rating of 93.30 percent and landing in the top 5 nationally. He also placed in the top 2 of the Electronic Technicians Licensure Examination (ETLE) with 93.00 percent.

In an interview, Nieva shared what his preparation journey went like, highlighting self-recognition to know his capabilities and effectivity before the examination.

“So, yung preparation nag-start sa pagkilala sa sarili ko. [First], I identified my strengths and weaknesses and ano yung mga bagay na effective na ginagawa ko, for example, paano ako nag-review," he said.

Aside from his efforts in reviewing, Nieva attributed his success to his family, making them his inspiration for taking both exams at the same time. He also said that his achievement is not only for him but also to make his family proud.

“Yung pag-take ko ng dalawang board exam at the same time is siguro para sa sarili ko na gusto ko may ma-achieve ako or gusto ko may lisensya ako, but also gusto ko ring maging proud sa akin yung family ko since throughout the years, sila yung sumuporta at nagpapapasok sa akin, sila yung nag-finance, and other supports na kailangan ko."

When asked for tips for future board takers, he emphasized being humble and the best version of oneself. "Stay humble, be the best version of yourself, and always believe, and the rest will follow," he added.

Meanwhile, AdNU maintained a strong showing in the recently released results of the same engineering examinations, earning a passing rate of 81.82 percent and placing fourth among schools with 10 to 19 examinees. In the technician examinations, all seven of the university's examinees passed.
