The Liderato kan Nueva Atenista Commission on Elections has scheduled the Special Elections for 13 to 14 July, with Maria Angelyka Ambrocio standing as the lone proclaimed candidate for External Vice President, the only contested office among the positions left vacant following the near-total collapse of the general elections. Should the Special Elections proceed as announced, 22 of the 24 elective positions in the university's highest student governing body will ultimately be filled through the Commission on Appointments rather than by the student electorate.

The Liderato kan Nueva Atenista - Commission on Elections (COMELEC) officially announced Maria Angelyka Ambrocio as the sole qualified candidate for the position of External Vice President (EVP) in the upcoming Lideratos Special Elections.

According to Memorandum 2025-2026-038 released by the COMELEC on 02 July 2026, the campaign period will run from 05 to 11 July, followed by the Miting de Avance on 12 July and the online elections on 13 to 14 July 2026. The formal appointment process for the remaining vacant positions will then commence on 15 July through the Commission on Appointments (COA).

The revised timeline, according to the memorandum, was adopted in consideration of the university's academic calendar to ensure that a complete and functional student government is in place ahead of major university activities, including the University Intramurals in September.

With all other executive and legislative positions left uncontested due to the absence of applicants, the poll body confirmed that these seats will remain vacant after the Special Elections. The COMELEC is expected to subsequently issue a formal declaration of Failure of Elections for the remaining positions.

Pursuant to Article IX, Section 3 of the Omnibus Election Code, the vacancies will then be filled through the Commission on Appointments, a mechanism invoked when a special election cannot be conducted due to the absence of candidates or force majeure. As a result, all remaining elective positions left vacant after the electoral process will be filled by appointment rather than through a vote of the student body.
